Faith Like Unto A Seed

In Alma 32:28 it talks about faith. It gives the analogy of faith being life a seed. When planted in your heart it will either grow or dwindle depending on the truth of that seed. This analogy really helps show people what faith is like. Faith being an intangible principle, it is difficult to understand. Alma's analogy of a seed helps everyone see that faith is something that you have to constantly water and help grow. It doesn't live on its own, you must always be striving to increase it. If you don't than it will die. Anyone can understand this analogy, so faith can thus be understood.

Comparing faith to a seed is a great analogy that I know makes faith easier for me to understand.

This is one of my favorite scriptures. You beat me to it. I love the analogy he uses of faith being a seed. It gives me such a better understanding of faith when it's taught in this form.

This is one of the great analogies in all of scripture. Faith, for those who have no concept of it, is very difficult to explain. This imagery and analogy really allows those who are investigating faith so understand what it is and how it grows.
