Reflection

Many of my writing skills improved during the process of writing my opinion editorial. Once I have a topic I usually just write the paper and make revisions as I go. However, this time I spent more time developing my arguments and focusing on appealing to a specific audience, which really helped me develop a well written paper. Also, not waiting until last minute and writing the rough draft in segments helped me develop good support for my arguments and counter arguments. One tip that really helped me with this paper was reading it out loud while revising it. This helped me see my voice in it and also clear up confusing or poorly written sentences. I found myself really focusing on appealing to pathos to interest my reader about my topic and persuade them to agree with my argument.

It sounds like my writing process was very similar to yours before writing this paper. I too would just begin writing and make revisions as I went along. Through writing this paper, and the lectures from class, I now realize that it is essential to pertain to all the steps of the writing process.

Sounds like your editing process was effective. That is very important. And good job on appealing to pathos. I think using emotion in your writing is so useful.
