My writing was very different from the professionals writing. Everything in mine was longer except for the sentence lengths. My paper was way longer than the artivle they wrote. Percentage wise, however, my paper was very similar to theirs, so if my paper were shorter I think they would actually be very similar in their size. I think I need to shorten my paragraphs because, when compared to the proffessionals, they are too wordy and long.

I think many of us are finding that our editorials are much longer than the professionals, however I don't think we should be discouraged. The professionals need to keep things short and sweet whereas we're supposed to get a grade. But that's good that your style is similar!

I find it helpful to see, when comparing your own editorial to that of a professionals, how exactly the paragraphs are split up. I know this helped me when it came to organizing my rough draft.

I found that my writing is not at concise as the professionals and after reading there articles it helps me see how to make my paper clearer.

The whole "short and to the point" thing is something that I need to work on in my writing too. After reading the professional article, I realized more clearly the positive effect that being direct can have. However, I think it also kind of depends on the writing you are doing. In some cases it might be beneficial to have some background information and maybe something personal. It just depends.

I agree with Spencer, if we were to make ours closer to the professionals we would need to have a ton of points. We need at least 3 full pages and when I copied and pasted the professionals it was just over a page.
