Vision

This is totally random but today I was at a place called "Vision Real Estate" and I saw an awesome quote by our very own Thomas S. Monson.  It said, "Vision without work is dreaming.  Work without Vision is drudgery.  Vision coupled with Work is destiny."  Now I don't really know what makes this so cool to me but I have always loved quotes like this.  The word choice is truly inspired.  I love sentences that play on words.  I really honestly can't explain it but the way this quote was written was amazing.

Thomas S. Monson always says the most beautiful things. I believe it is because he is inspired so he always knows just what to say that will touch us the most.

Another good thing about the way he speaks, is that he relates very well to the way a "natural man" feels. "Work without vision is drudgery" - that really shows that he's "one of us"; he's been through hard work, and he didn't like it much either! It's a good example of ethos, I think.

I heard this quote several times while on my mission and it really helped me to re-focus on what I was really there to do and picked me up several times when I was down. Definitely good ethos, cause we know who that quote is REALLY coming from.

Yes, I love quotes like this as well. This is a really good message, and one that we can live our life by.

I also love quotes like this. It brings together the logic of its statement with its emotion, along with the knowledge of who the author really is. This quote belnds together ethos, pathos, and logos.

It seems that every time I hear Thomas S. Monson speak, I am able to come away with some sort of greater understanding of some gospel doctrine or a really cool quote like this one.
