Feast Upon the Words of Christ

In 2 Ne. 31:19-20, Nephi is very effective in convincing us that we should endure to the end. In the beginning of verse 19 he uses the rhetorical question "After ye have gotten into this strait and narrow path, I would ask if all is done?" This is effective because it provokes thought and reflection. Then he uses lots of figurative language such as "perfect brightness of hope," and "press forward feasting upon the word of Christ." These are great examples of inspiring rhetoric that truly make me want to endure to the end. It appeals to pathos very strongly, especially with that promise at the end: " Ye shall have eternal life."

This verse is another great example of how the Lord makes an appeal to ethos with an example of what it is he can do for us, eternal life in this case, if we endure to the end.

I agree with your analysis. This is a very motivational scripture. I also think it reminds us that if we do endure to the end there is hope for all of us.
