Well this has been quite the journey, eh? I hate to admit it, but I actually enjoyed writing this paper. Why did I enjoy it? For one, I learned a lot about how I write and how I should write, and the differences therein. It all makes so much sense now why professional writers write the way they do. I now know how to make effective appeals to ethos, pathos and logos in order to persuade my readers to act. I also know now how to focus the purpose and main thesis of my paper in order to eliminate unnecessary information. If only it didn't have to be 3-5 pages.
I truly do feel like my writing ability has improved at least seven-fold. I never really thought that the audience affects the writer so much. But when you think about it, that is the whole reason why the writer does what he does! I still feel like I have a lot to improve on as far as organization and fluency goes, but for the most part I have seen a huge difference in my skills as a rhetorical writer from the beginning of the class to now.

I also realized how much the audience effects writing. Before I didn't really think about how important it is to make strong claims and appeal to the audience.
I too realized the vast difference between how I write and a professional's writing, and understand some of the things I need to do to make my writing more specific and accomplished. I also found it interesting how we change our writing to appeal to specific audiences. This is so true, and I now realize how important it is to think of who your audience is going to be before you write.
I can see the difference in an audience now much better then I had before. That was a good point to bring up.
