Math Education at its Finest

http://www.homeschoolmath.net/teaching/teaching.php

This article is discussing a couple of ways to be a more effective teacher. Although they are geared for math teachers I feel like they can be used by any teacher.

  1. What will happen if all teachers were to follow these guidelines?
  2. How would this effect those that aren't native English speakers?
  3. Would these habits work in other countries?
  4. What makes these habits better than others?
  5. Can these be used to teach foreign languages?
  6. Do students do better in their future if they are taught by these principles?

I really do think that teachers in America could do a better job. With better methods for these teachers to learn, it will make education more effective for more people. I think this would be a great issue paper.

I am also considering doing a mathematics education major. I think an interesting thing to do research on would be the the different teaching techniques used be teachers from different countries and the success rates of students.
