What others thought.
I shared my paper about fraternities with a couple of my BYU friends. I was a little reluctant a first because I was not very confident with my paper. Also with switching my opinion on the matter I didn't want others to think that I think frats are a good thing. If I was to know that I needed to "publish" the paper I would have paid a little more attention to the smaller details as I was writing the paper. I also would have picked a topic that meant more to me, and that would have made it easier for me to do a better job.

Worse yet, you wouldn't want to be the reason OTHER people thought frats were a good idea...
I just think this shows that depending on who you plan on sharing your paper with, that will really affect how passionate you are about the topic and how convincing your argument will be.
Yeah, next time I'm going to be absolutely sure that I agree with my topic at least 95%
