Issues Paper
At my conference on Friday with Professor Cowley we went over my thesis and how it needed to be strengthened and perhaps changed a little bit in order to fit the description of an issues paper. So... over the weekend I re-worked my entire paper to fit my new thesis on the prostitution debate. I believe that this has been a much better topic, and my paper has progressed because of it. Although it took an awfully long time, I think my paper is beginning to look more like an issues paper. From now until Thursday I am planning to go to the writing center and then critique and add a little more to my conclusion. In class today I plan to work on strengthening my conclusion and getting tips from some of my classmates about how I could enhance my paper.

I think that refining your thesis was a smart move. It definitely will strengthen your argument, which I think is the biggest portion of the rubric. It's a good idea to go to the writing center; they will definitely help you get things perfect!
During class I was able to get a lot done. Not only was I able to ask prof. Cowley questions, but I went through and corrected a lot of mistakes in my paper. I also went through and broadened my last few concluding paragraphs and cut out information that did not need to be there.
Thats too bad you have to change most of your paper, hopefully you were able to fix it over the weekend. Now hopefully you will get the grade you deserve?
