This may not seem like it is very closely related to globalization and it might be a stretch but this article is talking about how caffeine may actually help prevent skin cancer. It's kind of a stretch but this could be related to globalization because if this ends up being a big deal and significant at all then the whole world will be all over it. Everyone will be fighting for caffeine and it will spread worldwide.
Questions:
How legitimate is this information?
What happens if this is really significant?
How big of an effect is there really on skin cancer?
Will it help cancer rates decrease or not really?
Will someone develop a medication that is just essentially a caffeine pill?
Which companies will monopolize this market?

My dad is a microbiologist and works in cancer research. I too thought that this was a little weird, but he said that in fact the caffeine in many drinks can keep cancer cells alive. Interesting article.
There are all kinds of things that we use today that are known carcinogens (and probably a lot of unknown) this scenario could be true for lots of other things too.
